British OOBby Mark Gallear and Stuart MillisThe file contains three OOBs, - one designed to be backwards compatible with scenarios and campaigns. This list is currently been edited by Matrix to be totally compatible and will be included in later versions of the game. Original LBM pic files were created to illustrate the game's Encyclopedia. The other two are fully revised and contain many new troop and equipment
types. It comes in pre Sept and Post Sept 1944, so that Sherman Firefly
tank can be modeled with and without HE rounds. These OOBs give the
most realistic encounter battles and player generated campaigns possible. |

CMBB is a new game that comes in two slightly different versions - the US version directly from Battlefront and a European version, which is being distributed through shops by the German Company - CDV. Both versions to some extent suffer from censorship and a dumbing down of historical iconic symbols. I find the argument that symbols such as the Swastika or SS runes cannot be portrayed as they could corrupt the young, to be more than ridiculous. I think we should be and need to be reminded of the horrors of war that occurred on the Eastern Front and the struggle for power between Nazism, Communism and Italian Fascism, even in as poor a format as the computer game for doing this. The original aim of this section of the site was to restore these "offensive" historical reminders. The other reasons for the difference between the two versions was that an earlier beta version of the game was issued in Europe and because of the size of the copy protection on the European version they couldn't get all the game files on the CD! Battlefront kept the promise it made on its forum and put back all the missing BMPs and did this with the release of the 1.01 patch, which includes the US version of the icon bar. By downloading the files on this site and the other linked sites you should be able to get back to the US standard. Even the version from the "land of the free" has had the historically accuracy of certain graphically files "dumbed down". I have tried to host mods that counteract this trend. The 1.03 Patch is now out and the game is maturing and settling down. Although you will still find grumblers on the Battlefront forum. My coverage of CM 2 has increased and I now have a scenarios section for my designs and a separate page giving pointers on making graphically mods and the start of a page discussing tactics how for CM two player. |
