The Three Houses

Each House stands four stories high and is the office of each House Head. The
three are- the House of Apollo (Peoples), the House of Athena (Military) and the House
of Artemis (Economy). The government must act with the combined consent of all three
Houses, without whole consent, any individual action is illegal. The people do have a
say in the government and can, with two-thirds popular vote, veto a law or other
government documentation, policy, etc. passed by the Houses. However, because the
three Houses work so well together with each other and the people, this rarely happens.
It also helps that each house is typically headed by an elder demi-god and the premises
behind their birth help them to get along. The three heads now are all demi-gods and
they work in perfect unison. They have been the ruling bodies since their birth, one
hundred years ago.
The Grand Chief, a centaur by the name of Digdom, heads the House of Apollo
and is well liked among his peers. This position is reminiscent of the centaurs’ old ways
and tribal lords. It is still a respected title today. He is respected for always listening to
what the people say and is fair in his actions. His job is the law and justice departments,
the city construction regulator, the festivity coordinator and generally any job where the
people are involved. He is a very powerful person for he is the voice of all the peoples of
Ixion. He would be the person to whom all newcomers would answer.
Arms Master Stalcum, a decorated war hero, heads the House of Athena. He is in
charge of all matters involving the military, defense or offense, any policing activity or
otherwise armed situation. He has appointed Colonel James Lanot, an ex-CS soldier, as
Director of Internal Affairs. Lanot controls his entire company of CS-defectors to defend
the city and its people. His company will be explained in a different section. Arms
Master Stalcum and Colonel Lanot are both dedicated soldiers and extremely fair, just
men. However, Arms Master Stalcum is not the most approachable centaur alive. He
has a strong disdain for all non-centaurs, until they prove themselves worthy of his
respect. He holds much clout among his peers and Colonel Lanot is very impressed with
him as well. Lord Coake of the Cyber-Knights also knows of Ixion and is good friends
with Arms Master Stalcum.
The head of the House of Artemis is an interesting centaur by the title of Master
Trader Carella. Carella is unique in that she is a shifter, but also is skilled in the art of
business. She has negotiated certain contracts between Tolkeen, herself and General
Stalcum regarding weapons and supplies. She trades off this service by having Stalcum
protecting the northern border of Tolkeen. In addition to the military hardware, Tolkeen
sends certain luxury items and magic items. The only contingency placed on the contract
was that no one outside of the signers knows about the existence of Ixion. The three
Houses wish that their city remains a sanctuary and not a center for war. To date,
Tolkeen has lived up to the contract and the northern borders of Tolkeen are safe. Due to
her expert handling of the contract, Carella has risen the luxury level of her fair city,
while allowing the military just enough action to keep from becoming restless. She is the
most charismatic of the three heads.
