The Sega Saturn arrived in the United Sates in May 1995 in a limited release. The games had to be rushed so they could be ready for the launch date in America, so they had some imperfections like in Daytona USA. This was a game that hurt the Saturn badly, as many gamers were excited with the idea of having Daytona and Virtua Fighter in their homes, but after watching the actual games, many decided to wait for the Playstation.
The lack of import games brought to America really damaged the Saturn's popularity, as many great games were released in Japan, Grandia being an excellent RPG that never saw the light of day in the US, except the import version. Marketing decisions also afected the poor Saturn and by the beginning of 1996 it was clear that the Playstation was the winner in the 32-bit console wars, at least in America, as in Japan the Saturn was enjoying considerable success. Nevertheless, the Saturn had many excellent games released in America, like Virtua Fighter 2, Nights, Sega Rally, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, and Sega Worldwide Soccer 97.
Here I'll put pics of some pheriperals that were released for the Saturn.
