Noble Squire
Amodun 22nd, 5016AA (3/17/00)

Some news to be said. A young squire, named Burton, was walking
through the woods near a castle called Urada. He happened upon a
maiden being harassed by some bandits. He stepped in, risking his own
life, to do the honorable thing and protect her. Burton was able to
defend her but was slain in the process. Who is the maiden? She is
Areny, the niece of the king. Upon receiving word of this incident, the
king sent his personal healer to revive the young lad. Burton was
carefully moved to the finest room in the castle to allow for the healing
herbs to take affect. When he finally awoke, he saw the king, his niece,
Areny, the various healers, and several advisors. The king thanked Burton
for his noble service and offered him wealth and property. The young
squire replied with, and I quote, "I only did what I thought was right. I
would have done it for anyone. So I must refuse your wonderful gifts. I
don't have a need for them, but you can give them to the less fortunate
in the town square and tell them that someone gave them this gift to
help them become whatever they want to be." This reporter is moved to
tears at the sight of these truly unselfish deeds. Some one like this could
do well in the afterlife. Maybe even sit with Lord Damok himself one day,
and share in our greatest gods will and wisdom. We all wish him well, and
hope he never loses his enlightened ways.

I'm Turk Jy'la, and that's what I've heard.
