Official Opening
Amodun 23rd, 5016 AA (3/18/00)

Today is the official opening of TGN (Taeran Globe News), currently the only news agency in Taera. This doesn't mean that we will always be the only, but for now we are. Since we are now in business, feel free to e-mail me to let me know if you want to become a member of my staff. Full and part time positions are available. You can now also start submitting news by going to the main site and clicking on the submit news link. Enough about the site, on to some real news.

A few days ago, I reported on little baby Suzie. You should know that she is back to normal, eating her food, instead of healing it. Her parents would like to thank everyone for their support in such trying times. We're very happy to hear that. In world news, alchemists have discovered a way cheat death. Cenob became very irate and took pleasure in destroying the group himself, thus proving that no one can cheat him if he doesn't want you too. A Fire Archomental was seen strolling along the coastline of the Nandra Sea yesterday. The locals hired an elven mage to try to convince the Archomental to leave without causing trouble. The only problem with the plan was that a large wave came crashing down on the unsuspecting element and gave it a nice and subtle reminder that fire and water don't mix. The Archomental left the area quickly, but after lighting the local forest on fire. The locals are now wondering if they should have spent their money on fire insurance rather than hiring a now useless mage, who ended up just running off with the money any way.

In other news, the Kingdom of Throval has officially declared war on the Republic of Dile. This comes after several months of bandit raids traced back to a terrorist group called Kun, who base their covert operations in Jenta, the Republic of Dile's capitol city. Though Throval acknowledges that Dile itself is not responsible for the raids, they must be shown that if they can't help their neighbors find and eliminate this threat, then they are part of the problem and must be dealt with. Throval has promised to try to do as little damage as possible to the innocent victims involved in all of this. This gesture was made in order to win over popular sentiment and have the locals turn in these bandit raiders. No response has been made yet from the Republic of Dile's governing council.

If you plan on traveling though the Great Pacific Desert in the next week or two, be very careful. High winds and intense heat have made life miserable there lately. Giant 10 mile wide sand storms have been seen harassing the landscape. Even the long time residents are struggling with the current situation. The mountain town of Kyorol has offered to be the base staging point for relief efforts. Other travel plans have to be cautioned. Those that plan on traveling across the Jarvist Ocean need to be aware of pirate raiders. King Eronin has sent in 4 squads from his elite aerial battalion with this message. "When you attack my merchants, you attack me. I will not tolerate being insulted like this." Unconfirmed reports from the area state that the pirating has increased. These swashbucklers are obviously not afraid of the king's threat. Only time will tell how this one will end up.

I'm Turk Jy'la, and that's what I've heard.
