Adeptus Arbites Forces
Arbitrators
The Arbitrators of the Adeptus Arbites are the protectors of peace and
the dispensrs of justice under the great Imperial Law. They are
intentionally better equipped that the forces of teh Imperial Guard or
the planetary defense forces. This is important as it discourages
rebellion and outright attack against the Arbitrators.
They are arranged into squads of 4 Arbitrators led by a Squad Leader.
The squad may be equipped with bolters or combat shotguns and sent on
patrol missions, or with assault weapons and the much feared Power Maul
and Suppression Shield combination and deployed as riot-control units.

Executioners
Executioners are among the better troops in the rank and file of the
Adeptus Arbites. They are generally better trained and armed than the
standards Arbitrator squads, equipped with heavy weapons and wearing
protective suits of Power Armour.
Executioner squads are dispatched to serve either as heavy support for
thier comrades, or to hunt down dangerous criminals and heretics. They
are renowned for their rather brash and destructive methods, and they
are a highly feared sight in the Imperium. No one wants a squad of
Executioners out to get them!

Arbites Support Troops
Arbites Supprt troops are trained in basic mechanics and in operating
and maintaining heavy machinery. They serve as crew for cumbersome
support weapons and for the vehicles employed by the Arbitrator patrols
in their duties.

Veteran Proctors
Veteran Proctors are very experienced Arbitrators, and make up the best
troops available in the rank and file of the Arbites forces. They have
served time as Executioners and Squad Leaders and are trained in
leadership and discipline. Their duty is to lead squads of Arbitrators
into battle, providing a strong leadership bond to the officer core.
Successful Veteran Proctors may go on to become Detectives and later
Marshalls and Judges. They are the starting point in the chain of
command and represent the non-commisioned officers of the Adeptus
Arbites.

Detectives
Detectives are charged with two responsibilities. Firstly, they seek
out nad investigate rumors of criminal, heretical and alien activity.
Secondly, the act as direct liasons and field officers between the
officer core and the patrol units of the Arbites forces. They deal with
the minor discipline and commendation of the troops under their charge.
The Arbitrators under his capable command look up to and respect him as
a senior member of their own kind, not as an officer in the sense they
normally see. He takes part in the same tedious daily routines of
patrol and labor as they do, earning their respect and admiration.

Marshalls
Each Marshall is in command of his own sector within the Arbites
Precinct. They report directly to the Marshall of Court and Judge of
thier Precinct. Under their command is a force of around fifty to a
hundred Arbitrators, Crewmen and Executioners, supplemented by several
detectives and a vast arsenal of equipment.
Not only are they charged with keeping the peace within their sector,
but they must also manage the budgets and other fine details of their
sectors. Their Detectives are essential to the success of this form of
leadership as they take care of most of the discipline and other such
trivial details within the sector, leaving the Marshall free to perform
his duties.

Arbites Judges
The Judge is the Commander in Chief of the Arbites Precinct on any
given world. His authority is strong and his word is law within his
extensive jurisdiction. His power is held in check only by the Marshall
of the Court and the Chief Justive of the Adeptus Arbites himself.
The Judge has anywhere between a few hundred to several thousand men
under his command, so it is essential that his subordinates, the Sector
Marshalls and Detectives, perform their duties in an efficient manner.
When the situation becomes grim enough, and the fate of order rests on
a battle, the Judge himself will take to the field to ensure that his
troops succeed in their mission, no mater the cost.

Color Guards
Each sector within an Arbites Precinct maintains it's own decorative
ceremonial colors. The banner or standard is carried into combat by
the Color Guard and helps to remind the Arbitrators of their duty to
the Emperor and the Imperial Law. They are an icon on the field of
battle, fighting alongside theif fellows and inspiring them on to
greater deeds.
The Color Guard is a very experienced soldier who has seen a lot of
action. He has usually served as a Squad Leader, Executioner or Veteran
Proctor for some time, and is chose for his exceptional bravery in
combat. It is a great honor to carry the Sector Colors into battle, and
if the Color Guard proves himself then he will be elevated to the rank
of Detective and be entrusted with all of the responsiblity and
privelage thereof.

Arbites Psykers
The Adeptus Arbites screens its members for latent psychic abilities.
Candidates with enough potential are inducted into the Departmento
Telepathica to be trained further. While apprentices are in training,
they are still required to fulfill their duties as Arbitrators and
continue to participate in patrols with their squad, using their powers
to enhance the squad's effectiveness.
During training, the Arbitrators are assessed to determine what their
skills will allow and the best way for them to serve. They are then
trained in one of three ways, depending on their potential.
Psychic Interogators: Arbites Interogators use their Psychic
abilities and intimidation training to extract information from the
minds of captives brought before them.
Psychic Detectives: Trained to the same standard and quality as
Detectives, Psychic Detectives serve the same roles. They use their
powers to enhance both their detective work and their leadership role.
Combat Psyker: Only the most promising students are considered
to become Combat Psykers. They are sent on to the Inquisition training
schools to undergo Psychic training along with the Inquisitorial
candidates. The road is long and treacherous, but those that make it
through emerge stronger much more powerful than before. They are able
to make use of some of the most dangerous powers available to the
Imperium of Man, including Inquisition powers and their own special
Arbites powers.

Ogryn Brute Squads
Sometimes situations can get out of hand. Rioters take up arms and
fight back against the Shock teams of Arbitrators sent in to pacify
them. When things get ugly, they officer in charge of the operation
will call in the Brute Squad. Ogryns are large and strong abhumans who
love to fight and are devoutly loyal to their masters once trained
properly. Often just the appearance of an Ogryn Brute Squad is enough
to deter any futher attack, but when it comes they are more than ready
to take care of the problem.
Arbitrator Ogryns are armed just like their Imperial Guard counterparts,
carrying Ripper Guns and Frag Grenades, and wearing Flak armour.

Ratling Sniper Squads
The Adeptus Arbites usually operates in urban and metropolitan areas.
These zones often include high points that always harbor the danger of
attack from the very criminals the Aribtrators are hunting. These
snipers are a constant threat, and the only way the Arbitrators have
found to combat this threat is to maintain their own pool of specially
trained snipers who use stealth and cunning to outwit the enemy. They
set up in advantageous positions to cover the Arbitrator Patrol they
are assigned to.
The perfect candidates for this job is in that of Ratlings. They are
small abhumans, capable of sneaking silently through most types of
terrain. They are also renowned for their excellent marksmanship.

Penitent Squads
Penitents are men convicted of lesser crimes against the Imperial Law.
They are dishonored and have lost the favout of the Emperor, but have
been given a chance to redeem themselves. By fighting for the Adeptus
Arbites for three years they can clear their records of all of their
wrong doing. They are determined, if somewhat underskilled warriors.
Squads consist of five or more Penitents equipped with a variety of
weaponry.
