Space Marine Avenger
Avengers serve a special role on the battlefield. Most of the officers and other high ranking individuals of the Space Marine Chapters, such as Librarians, serve as support personnel used to bolster the main lines. The Avengers however, are used as part of the main line attack, sent forth into the fray right beside their fellow marines. They are always equipped for close assault, carrying pistols and laser swords they slash their way through enemy infantry and armour alike. A well trained Avenger Master is a close combat match for nearly any foe, even a whole squad of Genestealers!
A Space Marine Avenger is impossible to miss on the battlefield,
resplendant in their bright yellow armour and slashing away with a glowing laser sword. The very sight of that irridescent red blade is enough to send lesser creatures running for cover! Their combat prowess is enhanced by their mystic abilities and odd powers, and they are a much feared opponent.
