The Story...
The Kage Guild of Assassins
"He will conquer who has learnt the artifice of diversion."
Imagine a killer who is invisible, inaudible, and impossible to sense through the Force. A killer that can do his job without leaving a trace of either himself or the method he used to kill his victim. A killer who finds his job so satisfying that he requires no payment other than the fulfillment of his mission. Now imagine an entire guild of them...
The Kage (pronounced Ka-Gay) guild of assassins has been around for nearly four hundred years. It originally rose out of the ancient order of the Loag and shares their deadly accuracy and devotion to their work. The guild was originally started by a pair of Loag assassins who had come into contact with a Sith sorcerer during a mission near the planet of Ossius. The sorcerer's powers intrigued the trained killers, and they decided to make a deal with him. The assassins would spare his life if he trained them in the ancient art of the Sith. Naturally, the sorcerer accepted. When the Loag hierarchy found out about this they banned the two assassins and attempted to have them put to death. The warriors, however had other plans. By this time their power had grown to such a level, that the killers that had Loag sent after them were easily dispatched. They realized, however, that they couldn't keep this up long, sooner or later the hierarchy would send someone better. As a result, the two Sith warriors went into hiding and were not heard from for several years. During that time they trained themselves in the ways of the Sith, and found followers that they could train in their own ways. When the Jedi Knights destroyed the Loag, the Kage took their place. To this day the Kage are a feared force in the universe. Unlike the Loag, however, the Kage cannot be found. During the Emperor's reign, he tried many times to find the ancient killers. His plan was to turn them to his cause, and if that was not possible, to destroy them. At one time he thought he had found a small base of Kage. As a result he sent a platoon of his Royal Guards to investigate. None of them were heard from again. He had planned another raid but his resources were needed at the Battle of Endor.
