Vicky
1989-2004

Vicky, a registered and purebred chihuahua, was born on February 16, 1989. She was intended to be a show dog and was therefore poorly treated. However, she never made it as a show dog and went through several owners, some of whom had abusive children, before she was finally bought by the breeder who bred our own chihuahua, Ginger. However, the breeder did not want to breed puppies with Vicky; she just wanted to give Vicky a better home. Not long after she sold Ginger to us, she also sold Vicky to my aunt. It eventually became apparent that my aunt could not care for Vicky, so she left her with my grandmother. At the time, my grandmother had two cats, a tabby named Boots and a ragdoll named Fluffy, and one other dog, a mutt named Lucky. Vicky stayed in her bed most of the time, though she would often fight with Lucky over food. It was on Vicky's eighth birthday, February 16, 1997, that Boots was murdered. Vicky was far more upset six years later, on February 25, 2003, when Lucky was put to sleep. Eversince then, she had grown old, and before long, her hearing and sight went completely out. She soon became senile and no longer knew where she was anymore. On December 13, 2004, Vicky was put to sleep, leaving Fluffy as my grandparents' only remaining pet. Though Vicky never made it into show business, she was always the best in show to us.
