The team follows up on their wealth of leads gleaned from their previous adventures. They learn that a single mysterious organizing force has directed all of what they have seen so far. Unfortunately, penetrating to the next level proves difficult. The many leads seem blocked. It's as if the enemy is one step ahead of them, with inhuman attention to detail.
During these investegations, the team is confronted by the Minbari rival who believes himself to be the rightful owner of an important artifact in the posession of the team. After a pike duel, this rival defeated but he will surely show up again.
Returning to Signet Station to follow up leads there, the team becomes mixed up in the aftermath of Madame Noir's capture. Con men, thugs, and organized crime are scrambeling for opportunities, and even the Alliance Investegation Bureau (the 23rd century equivalent of the FBI) has taken an interest.
But the team has made enough of a dent in the criminal organization to be noticed. Everyone who has their ear to the ground learns that whoever kills the team will become a "made being." A darind and intense attack on the team soon follows, forcing them to make plans to flee. But what does that mysterious AIB agent want to speak to them about?
