The chase is on after the freighter full of slavers and their helpless preisoners. In addition to the team, Commander Bruin of Frontier Station takes a squadron of starfuries out to help. Even when the other Starfuries are forced to turn back by fuel considerations, Bruin heroically stays on the chase, apparently determined to catch those who preyed on the people under his protection.
Once the chase reaches Vega colony, the team engages their quarry in battle. The slavers try to reach the safety of Vega colony's atmosphere where the team cannot pursue, but the slaver's ship is so badly damaged in the battle that when it hits the atmosphere it loses control and crashes. The team uses the colony's atmospheric shuttles in order to land at the wreckage.
The team manages to save most of the prisoners who were in stasis. One of the slavers is captured, and the team also discovers the frequency of the radio beacon that the slavers were using to land. That leads the team to the slaver's base! Quickly, they work with the local authorities to plann to attack the base. Commander Bruin joins as well.
The team infiltrates the base first, where they discover the leader of the operation. They attack, and suprise works to their favor. Unfortunately, Commander Bruin is revealed to be a traitor at the worst possible time. Fortunately, the team gets lucky and are winning the pitched battle when the local autorities arrive as their re-inforcements. There is one mystery: the lead slaver is seen to be pulled away by something not visible. Something escapes the authorities by jumping through a window, but the tracks left behind are very strange indeed.
