Skills & Powers Proficiency Method: Cost 4 - Roll 6 - Modified by Intelligence/Knowledge

AD&D Proficiency Method: Slots: 2 - Relevant Ability Intelligence - 0 Check Modifier

This proficiency is automatically successful for any one specific NON-UNDEAD type of creature. This creature is to be determined when the proficiency is first chosen. On any creature which is "related" to the chosen one, a successful proficiency check must be made. If there is nothing in common with the creature (DM's call), no check made be made.  i.e., The player could name HILL GIANTS as their choice, thus they would receive the chance to recall information learned on GIANTS in general, but they would receive no chance what-so-ever with TROLLS, for they are to far removed, and the information varies to much from HILL GIANTS.

The information learned is the race's COMMON customs, habitats, appearance, diet, organizational structure, combat tactics, etc.  Basically, they should have a knowledge almost equal to what it would be like when observing them for some time. However, this may also hinder a character, as they may come across a creature of their choice which does not fit the normal racial traits. i.e., a group of hill giants could be enslaved to a more powerful entity which could influence their battle tactics or other similar traits, which in turn could throw off the character's party.

An additional creature type may be chosen by spending additional proficiency points/slots, although no more than one additional type may be added per experience level.
