Perception Attribute
This attribute determines the degree to which your character notices things. This ability is more than just sight, it also involves sound and smell. Bonuses gained from a high Perception are cumulative with all other bonuses. Perception score range is from 3 to 30 and is generated the same as other attributes, as described on page 8 in the Rifts RPG. Absolute maximum possible Perception score is 30.
Bonuses:
Initiative: Those who are better at noticing things first have a better chance to react first. In game terms, this means the character gets a bonus to his initiative. Starting at a skill of 17 add +1 initiative for every 3 points of Perception. Thus: +1 at 17, +2 at 20, +3 at 23, +4 at 26 and +5 at 29.
Awareness:
This is a percentage chance to notice things. Any IQ bonus applied to skills is also added to this roll. Starting at a score of 3, a character has a 9% chance to notice things. Add
+3 % per point above 3. Rather than create a chart, just use this formula:
Perception score x 3 (+ IQ bonus) = Awareness
