Domestic

Chess 30% +3% per level

By selecting this skill, the character knows the fundamentals of this ancient board game. A percentage chance skill roll is not required to play, but to determine a victory.


Leather working 25% +5% per level

Having this skill enables the character to create and repair leather clothes, boots and other items made of leather, such as saddles, saddle bags, and tack and harness for horses.


Juggeling 55% +5% per level

This skill is the simple ability to keep three or more objects in the air at once. The characters P.S. will determine the weight of the objects. A weak character will only be able to juggle eggs, bullets, etc. , while a strong character can try his luck with chainsaws and other heavy items.



Science

Soap Making 60% +5% per level

With the knowledge of this skill, the character can make different types of cleaning agents, hand and bath soap, laundry detergent and degreasers. This skill can be used to earn a little money and can be handy for someone who has been inside power armor for to long. (Even heros need a shower now and then)


Aromatherpy 20% +5% per level

This unusual skill allows the character to use dried plants, oils and various minerals in creating scents which can have a wide variety of effects. Some of these components must be burned while others simply need to be mixed. Some uses of these aromas include: (1) Induce calm, which can aid in meditation, add 1d4 to the recovered P.P.E. , I.S.P. , S.D.C. or hit points according to the reason for meditation. (2) Induce rage, add +1 to all hand to hand damage to those who are near enough and can smell the fragance. (3) Enhance IQ , by stimulating the body to pump more oxygen rich blood and other nutrients into the brain, add +1 to IQ (including any % bonus for as long as the fragrance is present).


Meterology 25% +5% per level

This is the ability to forecast, or predict, the weather. A successful roll means that the forecast was correct. (GM's must keep track of the use of this skill to maintain game continuity)



Technical

Lore: Pre-Rifts Sports 45% +5% per level

Having this skill gives the character basic knowledge of how to set up teams, keep score and play any four athletic games, according to twenty century North American rules. The character can know up to three different sports, such as; basketball, football, baseball, soccer, tennis, volley ball, golf, etc...Having this skill does not mean the character is a good player, he just knows how !


Cosmetology 55% +5% per level

This is the talent to give hair cuts, manticures and peticures. A failed roll means the haircut looks awful or the nails are cut all crooked.


Technical Drafting 20% +5% per level

This is the ability to create, read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. By using this skill, the character can read a blueprint and gain a basic understanding of any mechanical device. He would then be able to break down and reasemble the device, even if he does not comprehend the function of each part. By reading a mechanical blueprint, he will also know the fastest way to disable an item. Requires: Literacy


Architechural Drafting 15% +5% per level

This is similar to the mechanical drafting, except that with this skill, the character can create, read and interpret drawings of houses and other buildings. This knowledge can be used to find the quickest ways into and out of a bulding, to locate secret passages or doors and to identify structural weakness.



Medical


Accupuncture / Accupressure 45% +5% per level

The knowledge and application of using needles or focused pressure with a finger or small blunt object to releive stress, invigorate the body or heal certain wounds. This is also the ability to induce minor suggestions into a characters mind such as addiction relief. When used as a healing aid, add +2 to hit points and +2 to S.D.C.


Dentistry 40% +5% per level

The character with this skill is a dentist. When given the correct tools, he can clean, x-ray and treat teeth. He is able to repair cavities, make crowns, perform root canals, extract teeth and create dentures. He can also make positive identification through dental records.



Physical

Down Hill Skiing 55% +5% per level

This skill allows the character to successfully ski down snow covered slopes or grassy hillsides, provided he has the correct equipment. A percentage check is only required when higH speeds and\or stunts are attempted.

Also add the following: +1 P.E. \ +1 P.P.


Skate Boarding 65 % +5% per level

Any character who happens to own a skateboard, and wants to use it, must select this skill. A percentage check is only required when hig speeds and\or stunts are attempted.

Pilot



Rogue and Espionage

Lip Reading 25% +5% per level

The character with this skill can understand the speech of those he can see, but can not hear. When this skill is selected, the player must determine the language that he can lip read. This must be a language which he already speak. To lip read a second language, this skill must be selected a second time. Also, the character can only lip read from those of his own race.


Ventriloquism 24% +2% per level

This is the ability to speak without moving your lips, the voice coming from the throat. This skill also includes the ability to throw ones voice, making it sound as though the source of the voice was across the room or some other location not near the speaker.


Impersonation 32% +4% per level

This skill allows a person to sound exactly like someone else when speaking. If attempting to impersonate in an unknown language, there is a -22% penalty.
