Note: In creating this conversion I have drawn upon various magazines and books published in 1977, when Star Wars was first released. These materials are part of my private collection of memorabilia, and are now, sadly, out of publication. I have made every attempt to be faithfully accurate to this original material.
Stormtrooper O.C.C.
The bulk of the galactic empire's fighting force is made up of Stormtroopers. Every Stormtrooper is actually a clone. (The original human, who was used as a pattern, has been lost to history). They are thinking humans, but they are also assembly line products. Since they have no other family, they are fanatically loyal to the Empire, having been "conditioned" from "birth". Each clone is removed from it's labratory incubator after sixty weeks. They are then given to trainers. Therefore, starting in childhood, they receive extensive trainning. Each is proficient with a number of energy weapons and a variety of specialized equipment.
On extremely rare occasions, a Stormtrooper will decide to exercise individuality and pursue his own path in life. These occasions are usually brought about as a result of some traumatic experience, or a Jedi Knight used his mystical powers to "free" the Stormtroopers mind.
Attribute Requirements: P.S. and P.E. of 12 of greater. All Stormtroopers have a P.B. of 13.
Alignment: None, though most are evil.
Racial Requirements: Due to the xenophobia of the Galactic Empire, only humans are allowed.
Cybernetics and Bionics: None to start with. Will allow to save life, not for enhancement.
Experience Table: Stormtroopers use the same table as the CS Technical Officer in the main Rifts book.

Stormtroopers are issued the following:
One suit of TIE Armor, white in color.
One exterior back pack, black in color.
One blaster rifle
One blaster pistol, with holster
Six E-clips
One week field rations
One utility belt
TIE Armor has all the properties of full environmental body armor as found in the main Rifts book, page 209. The armor is made up of two parts. First, a two piece, black, body glove with micro wiring which provides temperature regulation. This body glove is made of M.D.C. cloth and is adjustable for comfort. Each Stormtrooper is issued two of these body gloves. Second, the armor plating itself, which is made of super lightweight Impervium and consists of 18 separate inner locking pieces. The internal back pack contains the batteries and the air supply / filtration system. Two extra back hand plates are included.
In addition:
Body Glove M.D.C.: 20
Armor M.D.C.: 65
(When wearing the complete outfit, combine the M.D.C. for a total of 85.)
Weight: 16 lbs
Mobility: -5% prowl
Black market cost: Illegal to own, EXTREMELY hard to come by, cost: 85,000 credits.
The exterior back pack is so called because it is carried on the back, outside the armor. This pack is made of M.D.C. material, and can withstand 10 M.D.C. before being destroyed. It contains an additional 10 day supply of field rations which includes water and an armor repair kit.
--- Armor repair kit. Contents: two containers of special epoxy, one 5 foot roll of M.D.C. wire mesh, 6 disposable epoxy applicators and one small M.D.C. wire mesh cutter. These items are used to do simple field repairs to the armor. Supplies are sufficient to repair 6 blaster impact sites. Each site restores 1/2 M.D.C. which caused that particular impact. Only minutes are required to do the repairs, but the epoxy will take 10 hours to completely dry and harden.
The utility belt has six compartments which contain the following standard issue equipment:
-- One 30 foot, 16 gauge, rubber coated, steel cable.
-- One 8 inch diameter, three pronged, collapsible, grappling hook
-- One hand held com link
-- One rectangular hand held flashlight with a 10 year super halogen bulb and battery. Size: three inches long by 3/4 inch diameter.
-- Three day supply of concentrated rations. (comparable to trail mix)
-- One container of water, approximately one pint
--extra E-clips are also carried on the belt.
Typical standard issue blaster pistol:
Weight: 5 lbs
M.D.C.: 2d6
M.D.C. Capacity: 15 M.D.C. before being destroyed
Rate of Fire: standard
Effective Range: 300 ft
Payload: 20 shots per E-clip
Black market cost: Illegal to own, extremely hard to come by, cost: 24,000 credits.
Typical standard issue blaster rifle:
Weight: 9 lbs
M.D.C.:4d6
M.D.C. Capacity: 20 M.D.C. before being destroyed
