Recent strides in science have allowed both Clan and Inner Sphere Scientists
to create new, signifigantly advance particle acceleration weapons
HEAVY PARTICLE PROJECTION CANNON (HPPC)
The HPPC is the uncomprimising big brother of PPC's everywhere. It dishes
out tremendous amounts of damage at the cost of generating ridiculous
amounts of heat. Since the electromagnetic beams that the HPPC
generates to contain the charged particles in have a greater load to
deal with, it has a shorter range than other PPC's.
LIGHT PARTICLE PROJECTION CANNON (LPPC)
The LPPC is for smaller vehicles and mechs who can't deal with the size
or heat generated by other models of PPC's. Since the electromagnetic
beams that the LPPC generate to contain the charged particles have a
smaller load, the LPPC has a longer effective range, comparable to an
ER PPC, if not slightly farther.
PULSE PARTICLE PROJECTION CANNON (PPPC) *CLAN WEAPON*
Taking the hint from Pulse Lasers, the PPPC doesn't focus all its energy
into one blast, but distributes it over a burst of smaller blasts.
