"In any army balance is the key to success. A commander who puts his faith in heavy weaponry alone will be outmanoeuvred. A commander who relies on close combat without support will lose his force to enemy fire. Each element must work in harmony, so that the effectiveness of the army is greater than the sum of its parts" -IMPERIUM TACTICA

Advantages

The character of every Space Marine Chapter is moulded by the world on which it is based and by the gene-seed of its founder. The Space Wolves are a product of Fenris and their Primarch Leman Russ. The cold, deadly world of Fenris schools its people in survival and constant warfare.

The Space Marines are chosen from the best warriors of each warrior race and the ablest survivors of a folk from whom each day is a struggle to stay alive. They are hunters, seafarers, and fearless warriors for whom death in battle is the most fitting end to an honourable life. Whilst young they learn that loyalty to their clan and their leader is the highest virtue. They carry these qualities all their lives, and their warrior ideals become the ideals of the Space Wolves Chapter.
Born on such a hostile world, few places in the universe hold any terror for the Space Wolves. Leman Russ was the most ferocious of the Primarchs, a giant even among the Emperor's chosen, a great brawling warrior, fiercely loyal to his friends and a terror to his enemies. He was said to be the most headstrong of the Primarchs but was undoubtedly one of the most brilliant military commanders in an age of great generals. Leman Russ vanished ten thousand years ago, no-one knows where to.

It is said that he will return in the Last Days to lead his people into the final battle when Warmaster Horus, the Great Evil One, will return from the Eye of Terror and the forces of darkness will overwhelm the universe. Russ's people - The Space Wolves - guard the gateway to the Eye of Terror and wait for the final battle, wait for the WolfTime.

Disadvantages

As the 'Sons of Russ', Space Wolves are tough, ferocious and brutal in HTH. Although they require a certain degree of experience to play well. Some players will catch on right away, others might need a few battles to master the right exact way to use the army to its full potential.

Space Wolves excell in characters. They have alot of them and their cost unfortunately add up. Don't get caught up taking one of each...

Psionics

As a Space Marine army the Wolves have plenty choice. You can take a Rune Priest or N'jal Stormcaller. N'jal is one of the best psykers in the 40k universe. He can take 5 spells instead of the normal 4 and has a Raven protector.

I have found that the Space Wolves have access the best psykers compared to other chapters...

Vehicles

Space Marines are the most alliable and thus can have a very wide range of vehicles. B'jorn for example, is the ONLY character Dreadnought available and the best. Here are a few examples:

Rhino: The fast speed and armoured hull of the Rhino allows Space Marine Squads to be quickly transported to vital points of the battlefield.
Leman Russ Tanks: Awesome arange of weaponry on these line of tanks. Whether it be the Battle Tank or the Siege Tank, Leman Russ anything is worth the points, if you can spare it.
Predator: The main armoured support of the Space Marines, the fearsome Predator is armed with a turret-mounted autocannon and twin lascannons.
Land Speeder: Powered by anti-gravitational engines, the Space Marine Land Speeder streaks across the battlefield to bring its formidable weaponry within range to blast the foe.
Dreadnought: Space Marine Dreadnoughts are massive war machines crewed by mortally wounded heroes of old.
Space Marine Razorback: The deadly Razorback excels in its dual use as a troops transport vehicle and an enemy tank destroyer.
Space Marine Whirlwind: The Whirlwind showers tremendous salvoes of fragmentation missiles onto the foe.
