Like you I had a horrible experience at Westgate in Orlando. It was so bad my boyfriend now makes it a point to go to timeshare presentations and use up as much of the sale persons time as possible. He does this to limit the time they have to prey on those who are not aware of what a bad deal it really is.
We in fact own three time shares, which we bought on ebay for bargain prices. Everything the sales people said we couldn't we have done. We have exchanged them for more exclusive resorts, there were no hidden fees, and we got them cheap!
Timeshares are really great, it is a shame they are being sold in such a devious manner.
