MMO Room was a Big Disappointment
Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

Date of Incident: 4/22/2004

I was offered a package deal by one of the Westgate Customer Representatives back in February of this year. The rep was very pleasant and professional and I got an offer you could not beat for 6 days and 5 nights for $249. All I had to do was take the tour at 7:30 a.m. at the Blue Tree Resort in Lake Buena Vista. I was offered to stay at the Blue Tree because of course I made less than the $40,000 a year, so it was basically explained that people who made less than that amount only qualified for the Blue Tree. I went on the internet and was amazed at how they displayed the interior and exterior of this resort. I was so excited my second vacation to Florida with my two children and my companion. My welcome package comes in the mail and I basically follow everything by the instructions on confirming my stay and when my tour would be scheduled. They had me scheduled for the day before my checkout at 7:30 a.m. and I was fine with that, so I thought everything would be a go. Upon arriving in Orlando, I called the 1-800 number because I was told in order to pick up my welcome packet and voucher for Universal I would have to stop at the Westgate Lakes Resort and then check-in at the Blue Tree. I wanted to be sure so I called to verify with the CSR, well she stated it showed that I was to pick up my welcome packet at the Westgate Palace going towards the opposite direction of Orlando. Very puzzled, I decided to forget the package for that minute and get to the Blue Tree to check-in.

Checking in was no problem, finding the room no problem, observing the room it was a big disappointment. It was decent, but not all lavish like the pictures had showed. And then come to find out, they used the two bedroom pictures on their brochures and internet which look totally different from the one bedrooms. It was decent and sanitary so I was like what the heck! We will make the best of it! The entire time the tub kept backing up, maintenance was not prompt in fixing anything, our partial maid service did just that half did his/her job! We had to call several times for face towels and face washclothes, because all they would supply were the towels.

The tour date, the letter said I was scheduled for a Saturday April 17th at 730 in the morning tour, but when I went to Westgate Lakes to pick up my voucher for Universal and welcome packet, the young lady told me don't worry about it, they didn't have you scheduled in our system….Even corporate confirmed that I had not been scheduled! So all I can say is, thank you but no thank you because with that type of disorganization and service whether or whether not I could afford to invest in their timeshares it would not be with the Westgate company.
