NS spent almost 5 hours on her honeymoon, losing a full day
Westgate Timeshare Resort Issues

Date of Incident: 1/20/2003

I just found your article on your bad experience at westgate resorts. My husband and i had a similar experience. I respect you for standing your ground and saying no. As for me and my husband we were way too nice.

My husband and i were on our honeymoon in june of 2001. A man greeted us in our hotel and from what i remember he was even pushy about going to this 90 minute tour. My husband wanted to look into it since we did get tickets. Of course i hesitated cause the last thing i wanted was to be pressured to buy something on our own honeymoon.

Anyways, i agreed to go. We went to 10:30 tour, by noon we'd be headed to the park or so we thought. It wasn't till about 1 hr. and 20 minutes into it that we actually got to go look around and don't get me wrong everything was very nice but by the time we got back to the eating area my brain was literally hurting. To make a long story short we were hesitant to say no at first cause it seemed like a great deal. that was our BIG MISTAKE. They went on, and on, and on trying to sell it to us. We finally got frustrated and told them no since we had just married and this was something we really needed to look into more. Then they suggested a 24 month payment plan to where you get to go stay for 7 nights after the 24 months is paid then decide if you want to buy.

They went on and on about this payment plan. The man and the second guy whom he said was his boss were both so pushy to an extreme.

We finally agreed so we could be on our way i mean what would it hurt.( like i said i made the story short) IT was almost 3:30pm when we left. (almost 5 hours.) We were both so exhausted from all the information and of course the pushiness, and slight rudness. That we didn't even make it to the park that day.

We have now been married a year and a half, When i look back now i know we only agreed because of the pressure and wanting to get away from those people You would think that they would of had some respect since we were on our honeymoon but they didn't. They took advantage of the fact that we were newlyweds and really didn't know what we were getting into. I have learned a valuable lesson next time say NO! and walk away. Heck i'll probably even be RUDE so they'll leave me alone.
