Conquest of Outer Space is a play by e-mail game of galactic conquest. It pits four different players - the Robots, the Humans, the Plant dudes and the Aliens - against one another in a galaxy of 50 stars.
The game requires one person to be the host and four players to play. One person can however both host and play.
The host of the game installs the host program on his PC and mails or sends the players their turn files (NEWTURN.TRN). These files are found in subdirectories of the host (Player1 through Player4). The player upon receiving the file, simply copies it into the directory with the game client and runs the program.
When the player has finished his turn, he mails a file found in his game directory (COMMANDS.PLn - where n is the player number) back to the host. The host puts all 4 COMMANDS.PL? files into the host directory and runs it, processing the turns.
Not by any means. No. It is currently only a beta version. I would appreciate any comments or e-mail or bug reports.
Nope. I am really lazy. It will be in the final version I promise. However, whatever you can't figure out for yourselves, you can mail me with questions.
No again. I am working on two upgrades. A sound patch and a movies patch. Neither will be compulsory. But will run sound and animations if they are there.
