StarCraft .SCM's and .SCX's

Some of you out there may know that I'm a bit of a map designer for StarCraft. I've made different types of maps, for different types of game play. I hope I will be able to make more great maps in the future. Below are a few maps that you can download and check out for yourself.

If you download one of my maps, and decide to make any changes to it, drop me line telling me, `cause I'll wanna check it out! q:)

Current map projects:

TarsonisBound - A one player RPG type map. Origianlly made to be a Team Use Map Settings, until I found out there was no such setting..... Well, I kinda slowed down work on this one for now, I may get back to it soon.

Doom? - Still don't know where I'm going with this one, but it should be real neat when finished.

Twilight Escapades - This map will be similar to WinterGlades and the Elements. However, the Zerg won't be the untimate enemy. There were also be 5 classes to choose from, with 2 secret ones.

Randomize! - This map will be for up to 6 players. Every 5 minutes, an  event may happen that can have a profound effect upon gameplay.

The Labriynth -  A 6 player Melee map.

Up and Down and All Around - A 6 player Melee map.


DOWNLOADS:

Name: Strip Mall2
Format: .SCM
Suggested Type: Use Map Settings
Players: 4 human, 3 computer
Tileset: Badlands
Size: 192x192
Description: On a space platform near the planet StarBucks, there is a great strip mall that is up for grabs, will you be able to take control?
Features: Three computer opponents with various difficulty settings and established bases. There are a few security features to stop the computer from rushing early in the game.
Notes: The original map was much smaller and you could really feel the squeeze quick in the game, this one allows for more freedom, buy also has you far from allies.
Difficulty: Not too hard, as long as someone playing knows the map and there are 4 human playes, otherwise it could get tricky....
Time: About 1-3 hours.
 
 

Name: Paintball
Format: .SCM
Suggested Type: Use Map Settings
Players: 7 human, 1 computer
Tileset: Installation
Size: 64x64
Description: You have 30 minutes to kill anything that moves!
Features: There are various traps ( Thus the computer player.) placed around to keep you on your toes.
Notes: This was my first try at a map like this, I think it came out pretty good.
Difficulty: Not too tough.
Time: 10 minutes.

Name: Ruins of Foabriqin or better known as "Twilight to Starlight"
Format: .SCX
Suggested Type: Melee
Players: 8
Tileset: Twilght
Size: 256x256
Description: The once glorious kingdom of Foabriqin is now nothing more than a faint memory in history. What's left is a mere shadow of its former splendior.
Features: Well, there's nothing spectaular about the map itself, there's a few places for remote camps and some areas are easier to defend than others, but resources are for the most part equal. ( I think.)
Notes: This is one of my favorite maps. Very chalenging indeed.
Difficulty: Give up now while you still can! Save yourself!
Time: You don't happen to have anything planned for the next month, do you? It'll take at least 45 minutes, I think. That's with 8 players, human or otherwise.

Name: Messed up Map
Format: .SCX
Suggested Type: Melee
Players: 8
Tileset: Ice
Size: 256x256
Description: Good luck! *LOL* This map probaly shouldn't even be here!
Features: Um, there's a river going through horizantaly in the middle, and there's.... stuff. Yeah...
Notes: I dunno what I was thinking when I made this map, it might actually be playable however....
Difficulty: Who really knows?
Time: 1-2.5 hours?

Name: Space Wars
Format: .SCM
Suggested Type: Use Map Settings, Melee might work too....
Players: 8
Tileset: Platform
Size: 128x128
Description: Flying units only!
Features: With map settings, you'll only be able to build flying units, with the exception of harvesting units.
Notes: I really should try out these maps more often. This one looks fairly good, but I'm pretty unsure about it.
Difficulty: Looks tough, but may be easier playing with BW units.
Time: 30 min.-3 hours

Name: Kudzu
Format: .SCX
Suggested Type: Melee
Players: 4
Tileset: Ice
Size: 64x64
Description: The plants are taking over!
Features: This map is covered with trees, making it very difficult to build and see your enemies.
Notes: This map is only really good for rushing. Later in the game, it shouldn't even last that long.
Difficulty: Depends on how long the games goes on for.
Time: Around 20 minutes or so.

Name: Wide Open Spaces
Format: .SCM
Suggested Type: Melee
Players: 8
Tileset: Wasteland
Size: 256x256
Description: Miles of wasteland lay before you, devoid of any features, just flat, land....
Features: Rich in minerals and gas, but there's no trees, and all flat land.
Notes: This map is gonna be really hard to keep any defense on.
Difficulty: Could be tough.
Time: 30 minutes-3 hours.
