letters A room marker. Used to show things that are difficult to draw.
(lower) All rooms with the same letter are the same room. Typically,
only one will show the exits, if there are any. See examples.

%= Passages cross, but do not intersect. See examples.
^v>< One-way passages. See examples.
o Door, unlocked. See examples.
x Door, locked or magically protected.

Complex Situations:
| There is only one room a. Going east
--a-- b->a from room b leads to room a, which has
| four exits.
|\ On several maps I use constructs like this
/\ |/ to indicate exits that go back to the same
+-/ + room. In retrospect, it might be clearer if
I had used something like a->a. Maybe not.
