ROUND TWO OF 2001 SEASON MATCH REPORT

Richmond Oval - Sat 7th April 2001

By Chris Hisee

Sturt have gone down in abysmal fashion, this time at the hands of West Adelaide. The Blues looked promising early with Squire, Mattner and others gathering the ball frequently and bombing it up forward but in the second quarter the intensity slowed considerably. The teams went goal for goal in the second quarter but Sturt's defence was too loose checking and come the third quarter Sturt were missing easy goal scoring opportunities and not really looking like getting back in the game. The last quarter was just pathetic, the less said about it the better. Sturt now face a tough game against the Eagles at Unley and if this match was anything to go by then Sturt have little to look forward to.
