ROUND SIX OF 2001 SEASON MATCH REPORT Norwood Oval - Friday Night - 5th May 2001 By Chris Hisee |
The most hyped minor round match of the 2001 season has
ended in an unfortunate loss for the Double Blues. Sturt started well with
Damian Squire scoring a running goal within the first minute but soon after the
match went goal for goal with neither team able to get a big lead. The backline
performed well under constant pressure in the second half but the pathetic
umpiring went a long way to beating the Blues with an 18-5 free kick count in
the second half. Bruce Lennon was brilliant in the middle with 28 hard fought
possessions and Toby Thurstans was brilliant at half back.
