Oracles are incredibly weak, but not only in the HP department. None of their spells is terribly useful, nor any learned abilities either. Petrify and Paralyze are the only 2 useful spells, but they work so infrequently, that they are not worth it. Their only advantage is in their relative strength compared to other magic users. They deal much more damage in combat than other mages, and with an attack range of two, they tend to survive longer in a melee. They work well to be used only when the 2nd ability is some sort of magic, allowing for a better survivabilty rate than mages with a yinyang second. In this case, is perhaps their only worthwhile use, because their equiping gives them an excess of MP when compared to a knight with a magic second. Still, they are usually not worth the extra effort.
