Born into a rich family in Boston, Emma Frost was forced into a mental hospital because she " heard voices." Her experience made he jilted and a little nuts. She took control of one of the mind of one of the orderlies, and with his help she made her escape. Unfortunately it was just to the streets where she spent most of her young adult life. There she survived only with her newly found business sense, due to the fact that she read the minds of businessmen to gain information on stocks and other business related issues, and her mind controlling abilities. She managed  to work her way back up the social ladder and soon became a wealthy, shrewd businesswoman. Her love of money was only suppressed by her love of power. She found it through the Hellfire Club, an exclusive crime organization. She soon became a very powerful telepath and gained the title White Queen. She was asked to join Hellfire's "Inner Circle", which is where she meet the X-Men and battled them frequently. She later brought together a group of powerful teen mutants for the benefit of the Hellfire Club, and named them the Hellions. Most of the Hellions were slaughtered by Trevor Fitzroy. Emma, who awoke from a coma, took over the mind of X-Men's Iceman, AKA Bobby Drake. She used his body to try and find out what happened  to her students and in the process used Iceman's powers in ways he had never even imagined. After finding out what happened to her Hellions she had a nervous breakdown and went back to her body at the X-Men headquarters. She stayed with the X-Men until the Phalanx Entity attacked and she, Banshee, Jubilee, and Sabretooth escaped and went looking for the mutants which the Phalanx had set out to find. They rescued the kidnapped teen mutants and defeated the Phalanx. Emma and Banshee, AKA Sean Cassidy, are currently the Headmasters of the Massachusetts Academy and the leaders of Generation X.
