British FireFly Tank

Sherman Medium Tank

Description:

The M4A1 Sherman Medium Tank was probably the most versatile tank that the Allies had. Armed with a 75mm main cannon and two 30. cal machine guns, the Sherman is a good all around tank except in armor. The 75mm gun does not have good penetrating power but is effective against enemy infantry and light and medium tanks along with half tracks. The two .30 cal machine guns provide good firepower against infantry and with a lot of ammunition you can suppress enemy units for a long time.

Deployment:

Deploy the M4A1 Sherman where it has some cover and can ambush tanks or enemy infantry. Use the Sherman to provide supporting fire for attacking infantry or retreating infantry. If the Sherman encounters heavy German tank or tank destroyers hide the tank and let the enemy tank pass. Then move the tank out and try to take a shot at the rear or side of the enemy tanks where the armor is not as thick. If the Sherman does not score a hit make it retreat really fast before the enemy tank has a chance to shoot back.

Advantage:

Good availability, good firepower against infantry and light to medium tank.

Weakness:

Thin armor means not even close to a fair fight with heavy German tanks or tank destroyers.

Sherman 76 Medium Tank

Description:

The M4A3 Sherman 76 Medium Tank is the same as a M4A1 Sherman but is modified with a high velocity 76mm main gun replacing the older 75mm gun. The Sherman 76 is still armed with two .30 cal machine guns, the new gun has better penetrating power than the old gun.

Deployment:

The Sherman 76 should be deployed in the same way as the M4A1 Sherman but the newer Sherman has more penetrating power and can take on Tigers in a head on attack but should avoid all other heavy German tanks.

Advantage:

Better firepower than the original Sherman.

Weakness:

Armor is still thin.

Firefly Tank

Description:

The Firefly Tank is a upgraded version of the M4A3 Sherman Tank, the Firefly has a 76.2 mm high velocity main gun making it the most powerful Allied tank. Along with the main gun there are two .30 cal machine guns for attacking "soft" targets. The high velocity main gun has good penetrating power giving the Firefly good first shot kill accuracy.

Deployment:

The Firefly is the king of the battlefield for the Allies. Comparable to the German Panther tank the Firefly can take on the heavy German tanks and destroy them with a well placed shot. Use the Firefly against anything you see, it is the most powerful Allied tank. The Firefly can stand back out of the range of PanzerFausts to attack German units.

Advantage:

Everything it is the most powerful Allied tank!

Weakness:

Armor is not thick enough and still very vulnerable against heavy tanks and tank destroyers.

Sherman 105

Description:

The Sherman 105 is a version of the Sherman tank but is armed with a 105mm howitzer for a main gun. The Sherman 105 is a self propelled assault gun. Along whit the main gun the tank is armed with two .30 cal machine guns.

Deployment:

The Sherman 105 is best at destroying houses and destroying pinned down infantry. Hide it from other tanks because the 105mm main gun is not very accurate. Fairly thin armor means that the Sherman 105 is fairly vulnerable to PanzerFausts. Slow reload time means you will have to withdraw the tank and let it reload.

Advantage:

Big gun and can level a house.

Weakness:

Slow reload time and thin armour mean a very vulnerable tank.

Cromwell

Description:

The Cromwell tank is directly comparable to the Sherman tank. Armed with a 6-pounder main gun and two .30 cal machine guns the Cromwell can take on light to medium tanks along with half tracks. The 6-pounder reloads fairly fast giving the Cromwell quicker fire power than most tanks. The Cromwell has fairly thin armor that can easily be penetrated by PanzerFausts.

Deployment:

Use the Cromwell in the same way as the Sherman and try to ambush larger tanks than the Cromwell. The Cromwell is good for attacking enemy infantry units but must stay out of range of the PanzerFausts.

Advantage:

A fair medium tank.

Weakness:

Small main gun and thin armor.

M5A1 Stuart

Description:

The M5A1 Stuart is a superb light tank that can easily out run any other tank on the battlefield. Armed with a 37mm quick firing cannon and two .30 cal machine guns this tank can out maneuver heavier tanks and do damage to them before they can react. The Stuart is good for attacking infantry at close range since its speed makes it hard to hit.

Deployment:

Deploy the M5A1 in an area where infantry will likely cross and ambush them. The Stuart is also one of the deadliest threats to half tracks where it has the speed to catch them and the armor to take any major hits from them.

Advantage:

Great speed and fast firing cannon give the M5A1 Stuart a good combination to survive and destroy enemy units.

Weakness:

Small caliber gun and thin armor can make the Stuart an easy target for heavy German tanks or even Medium tanks.

Churchill AVRE

Description:

The Churchill AVRE is know as a British "funny" tank, equipped with a 280mm "Dustbin" mortar the AVRE can level houses and destroy complete teams of infantry. Along with the mortar the AVRE is armed with two .30 cal machine guns to engage enemy infantry.

Deployment:

Deploy the Churchill AVRE far from enemy units and then move it up when a enemy unit is pinned or hiding in a building. After firing the mortar it takes a long time to reload and the Churchill should retreat out of enemy range. If this is not possible use the two machine guns to suppress enemy teams.

Advantage:

Incredible firepower when firing at close range and the ability to destroy entire houses.

Weakness:

Long reload time and thin armor.

Crocodile

Description:

The Crocodile is a modified Churchill tank that carries some impressive weapons. Armed with a 75mm main gun in the turret and a .30 cal machine gun this tank is pretty powerful. Mounted on the front of the hull of this tank is a large flame thrower with a range of around 60 meters. This tank has medium armor and can take a number of small caliber (5 cm, 3.7 cm) anti-tank gun hits before being destroyed.

Deployment:

This tank strikes fear into the enemy and makes enemy infantry run from it. Take advantage of its range with its 75mm and large flame thrower to ambush enemy infantry. Hide the Crocodile between two buildings near a road then wait for the enemy to pass by! Even if a German heavy tank or tank destroyer passes by the large flamethrower is a great anti-tank weapon that will destroy even the KoignsTiger VIB with a frontal hit of flame.

Advantage:

Offers a great short range way of stopping anything in its tracks.

Weakness:

Only medium armor and slow reload for the main gun and flame thrower.

Achilles

Description:

The British Achilles is the British name for the American M-10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer. Armed with a 3 inch high velocity main gun and .50 cal AA machine gun this tank destroyer is a formidable weapon when ambushing enemy vehicles or tanks. Basically the Achilles is a Sherman Tank with out the turret, a high velocity 3 inch anit-aircraft gun is mounted in an open top turret to save weight that make it fairly fast.

Deployment:

This tank destroyer is meant only for ambushing enemy tanks and can hold its own against enemy infantry but is very vulnerable to even hand grenades due to its open topped turret. The Achilles is fairly good at taking long range shots at enemy tanks and scoring direct hits on them.

Advantage:

Fairly fast and with a high velocity 3 inch gun that can deal with enemy armor.

Weakness:

Open topped turret mean it is very vulnerable to even rifle fire.

Achilles II

Description:

The Achilles two is the same as the Achilles except it has a much more powerful 17-pounder main gun that can take out even the heaviest German tanks.

Deployment:

Deploy the tank destroyer in the same way as the Achilles but watch for infantry that can kill the crew with out even harming the tank through the open top turret.

Advantage:

Biggest Allied gun and lots of power.

Weakness:

Open topped turret that makes it vulnerable.
