Alone

Once again I sit
Alone
In a world full of people
Surrounded by strangers.

Gazing out a window
Am I on the outside looking in
Or on the inside looking out
And which is the better choice?

To be trapped inside, watching the world
Carry on - Around you- Without you
Or on the outside, amongst the world
Exposing yourself to all around you.

Vulnerable to disease, imminent pain
It is everywhere around you
There is no escaping
Unless you stay inside.

But in here, its so empty
Blank walls, echoing halls
Left alone with your thoughts
Your concerns, your doubts.

A choice to be made
And what a choice it is
To be destroyed by others around you
Or to destroy yourself from within.
