ABOUT ME

A few brief details about myself... My name is Jon Legg, aged 37 (in 2008). I'm married with two kids, and live in the North-West of England, where I work in education.

I've been playing videogames ever since I first saw Combat, Asteroids, Night Driver and Yars' Revenge on my friend Jon Broughton's Atari 2600 in 1980 or 1981 - I was instantly hooked. We used to play Combat's Tank Pong option (game 7) to death! I owned quite a few computers and consoles over the years since then (including the 2600, and an Atari 800XL), and started picking up older systems again in early 1997, after discovering the British collecting scene in late 1996.

My favourite systems are the Vectrex and Colecovision, machines I always wanted as a child, but could never hope to afford. I enjoy games old and new, and I currently collect and play games on these systems: Vectrex, Colecovision, MSX, Spectrum, Turbografx-16, Atari 2600, 7800 and 8-bit computer, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, DS, Sega Megadrive, Mega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast and Sony Playstation 1 & 2. And yes, I have way too much stuff :)

Every year I attend the Eurocon convention, a gathering of European collectors which traditionally takes place in Germany, the Netherlands, or the UK (check out the website for more info). For me, this kind of event is the best thing about game collecting - having the chance to meet fellow collectors, play and trade some games, and have a few beers together! Next year's event will be in Austria, and we'll be holding the 2010 convention in England :)

I've always preferred trading games to using eBay, so if there's something on one of my trade lists that is of interest to you, please feel free to get in touch. I'll sell most of these items too, but generally prefer to trade if possible. Of course, if you have something on one of my wants lists, or just want to talk about games, I'd love to hear from you too!
