NJG88 was born on August 8, 1997. The original squad was designed within the Air Warrior community while playing on AOL. The squadron then moved to the Gamestorm servers in 1998.

The squad started out slowly within the Air Warrior community, and in December of 1998 we took on a whole new direction with the introduction of the simulation European Air War by Microprose. Slowly the new simulation began to transform us from an "online" Air Warrior squadron to a new style of gaming. We loved the much improved graphics of EAW, and we were introduced to the Kali network. We wet our appetite for flying on the EAW Challange Ladder, and we got involved in the 2v2 Wingman Challenge Ladder they were running.

At the time, our number's had dwindled and we were down to only 3 members of which only 2 were still active, Greywolf and Wile E. Coyote. While on participating in the 2v2 Wingman Ladder we ran accross another duo (Beaker & TG_U6), who like us were pretty adept at the concept of Wingman Tactics and usually gave us fits whenever we flew them in a match. Eventually, it was as if a light was clicked on within both our tandems and we decided to join forces. Beaker and TG-U6 became Werewulfe'z. With the introduction of voice communication's through the program "Roger Wilco" we went to work in forming the wingman concept of the squad, and in recruiting.

By adding new members who had the same philosphy as us regarding flight sim's, over time the squadron grew to what it is today. We intend to keep the squadron relatively small (no more than 16 members), because we feel a smaller squad develops a much closer bond betweens it's members, and it is much easier to manage than some of our larger counterparts.

During our weekly squad meetings (Monday's from 8:00 - 11:00pm EST) we usually meet in a Kali server and work on Wingman Tactic's. We partake in coop mission's, and in joint sessions with other squads. We also participate in "On-Line" wars against other EAW Allied Squadrons, and we try to keep them as historic as possible for a simulation of this type.

Right now European Air War has our main focus, but we are also looking to the future as it relates to WWII simulations that are about to be released. Two new simulations: B17-II from Microprose, and Thunder Over Europe from Looking Glass are both being watched as they develop. Once released the squadron will also add these game's to our growing play list, and we will fly them as a squadron of sim pilots, and as a squadron of friends whenever possible.
