Ethlinn

Ethlinn was born as the princess of Chalphy and the younger sister of Sigurd. She married Cuan, and at the beginning of the story they have a young daughter named Althena. She is very energetic and outgoing. Her brother says that she is a tomboy, and she has not changed much even after becoming a mother. Although she does not have the special powers that Sigurd or Cuan has (to use special weapons), she can use some staffs (mostly for healing) and her sword which she learned to use when she was still in Chalphy. She loves her brother and her aged father very much and she always thinks of them even though she is with Cuan in Lenster.

After hearing from a messenger that the army of Verdane is invading Grandbell, Ethlinn became worried about her brother and her homeland. She talked to Cuan to get him to help Sigurd, and they left Lenster with Finn, the only knight Cuan felt he can take along. Cuan wanted Ethlinn to stay in Lenster with Althena, but Ethlinn was determined to go to the battlefield herself. The king of Lenster (Cuan's father) gave Ethlinn something before they left, but......

Why did I even mention the "thing" up there? Well, if you've played the game you know what I am talking about. If you don't know, I'll leave it to your imagination (^_^).

If you've read Cuan's information before this, let me talk about the tragedy from Ethlinn's point of view. I know it's Ethlinn's fault....(;_;). But Cuan's way too nice. Why couldn't he stop Ethlinn? Ethlinn's determination is very strong--strong enough to abandon her newly born son and go off to a battlefield, crossing a desert even though they know it's risky, while carrying her daughter with her. What a woman (*_*). Once she sets her mind on something, she will do it no matter what. By the way, this is the only criticism I have about her (^_^). Other than that, she's a character that I like very much (please don't get the wrong impression just because I started with some criticism. OK (^_-)).

Cuan and Ethlinn are the best example, in this game, of what a couple should be like. They definately get along well, and they cover for each other's fault (^_^). And it's a relationship that was built over a longer period of time, not love at first sight only (Sigurd and Diadora......hmm.....Alvis and *******....definately!!). Cuan+Ethlinn is the greatest!! (^0^)

The most memorable thing about Ethlinn on the battlefield other than the love attack.... Her numerous critical attacks (^-^). This was carried on by her son, but I didn't get much out of her daughter. Althena was happy with her Geiborg (^_^). It says in the guidebook that Ethlinn's attacks cannot be trusted, but that was not true for my Ethlinn. She was always up there next to Cuan, Sigurd, Jamca, Aila, and Levin (my frontline people). She's a powerful magic&attack unit, but it ends up that once Lakesis becomes a Master Knight, she is beaten by Lakesis (;_;). But that came around just when Cuan, Ethlinn, and Finn leaves the army, so it wasn't so bad.

By the way, I wrote this much earlier than planned just because Kirin include Cuan, Ethlinn, little Althena, and young Trabant for me in his story. Be sure to take a look at it!!
