Midale is an arch knight that serves the family of Jungby. He
fell in love with Eidin, and decided that he will always stay
close to her. That is why he did not join Lord Ring, Andrei, and
their army when they when to battle in Isaac. He gave an excuse
to allow himself to stay in Jungby, right beside his princess.
But one day, Gandolf of Verdane invades Jungby. There were not enough soldiers left in the castle to protect it, so Midale sent a messenger to nearby Chalphy to ask for help. The invading army was too forceful, and they took Eidin in their hands. Midale was the last one there to fight, but his mighty arrows where not enough to beat Gandolf. Oh, no. Another character that is talked badly about. The first thing that anyone points out when they talk about Midale is his little conversation with Brigid in Chapter 3. Most people see this scene and lose their love for this poor guy. But I was one of those lucky people who never saw that conversation (Eidin and Midale was the first couple that I had--they got together in the beginning of Chapter 3--the popular conversation happens at the end). So my image of Midale is an unharmed (^_^). And no one will tarnish that image. No one!!
Another confusing thing about Midale is his name. If you know how to speak Japanese, you will know that it is technically impossible to pronounce his name "correctly". The "de" and the little "e" don't go together!! If you want to know how I decided to pronounce it, just pronounce his name just as you see it spelled on the top (^_^).
The most memorable thing about Midale.... there was nothing special about his abilities other than his skill. He is a pretty average skilled character like Fury. From the time Jamca joined the party until the beginning of Chapter 3 he had nothing much to do. Jamca was way too strong, and the only thing that set Midale apart was the fact that he has more move ability and rides on a horse. But in Chapter 3 he gained the Hero's Bow, and that put him back on the map for a while. But once I found out that it takes too much money to maintain the bow, I refused to use it too much, and I noticed that he went back into the shadows of others.....
But his legacy is carried on by his son, Lester, who is much more useful than his father (^_^;) and his sister combined (^_^;;;). Thank you, Midale, for leaving behind a strong son to make up for you in the future (^_^;;;).
