The parties signed to this agreement (hereinafter referred to as Members) hereby agree to abide by the following points in order to gain rights and privileges within the Galactic Merchants League (hereinafter referred to as the League.)

I. The term of this contract is indefinate and can only be broken by mutual agreement between Members and the League. Newly admitted merchants will be subject to a trial membership not to exceed 6 months, during which they will be subject to all obligations and receive all benefits detailed in paragraph III.

II. By signing this document Members accept and confirm that:

a) All outside obligations including Imperial Service have been fully disclosed prior to signature.

b) Memberships in other organizations must be approved by the League.

c) Members are obligated to contribute to the defence of the League's territory, its trade routes, and trade rights. Manner of participation may include but is not limited to monetary assistance, supply of resources and/or direct military involvement.

d) Members will be obligated to provide reasonable access to technology, tradeable goods and resources at cost to fellow members of the League unless doing so will have significant adverse affect on the financial stability of the contributor. At the League's request Members should be able to detail such an adverse effect. Contributors have the right to stipulate terms of use and/or resale.

e) All Members understand that their histories and reputation may be scrutinized during the period of trial membership.

III. Rights and Privileges of Trial Members

• Trial Members have the right to access League technologies and trade goods subject to the restrictions detailed in paragraph II.d as long as such technology and/or resources is not considered rare or secret by the League,
  
  the right to autonomous function within the League's rules and regulations, and
  
  the right to be a non-voting participant in the League's business.

IV. Rights and Privileges of Full Members:

Full Members have all the rights detailed in paragraph III, as well as

the right to vote on League business,

the right to hold League office,

the right to reasonable access to rare or secret technologies and resources, and

the right to sponsor merchants for trial membership.

V. Liability

Members who violate League dictates to the detriment of the League or its allies are subject to penalties to be determined by the League, including damages.

Members agree that if an attorney is employed to protect the rights of the League as defined hereunder, member will pay the fee of such attorney. Such fee is hereby fixed at 25% of the amount claimed. Member further agrees to pay all court costs and all other expenses involved.

VI. Correspondance

All correspondance required under the terms of this contract shall be in writing addressed to the League.

VII. Mediation

The parties agree that any controversy, claim for personal injury or loss, or dispute of any kind arising out of or relating to ths contract shall be submitted to mediation in accordance with the rules of the League.

This document and any indicated addendum contains this entire agreement. If any part of this contract becomes contrary to law the remainder of this contract remains valid. Any changes must be agreed upon by both parties in writing.
