Men's Grass

Long ago there was a handicap boy who always wanted to dance in the pow wow arena and while attending a pow wow he started dancing on the grass, patting it down for all the dancers to dance upon and when the people saw that he was dancing they stood around him. They honored him by creating the grass dance.

This style of dancing involves no eagle feathers except for the ones that are worn on his head or the ones that he carries. Most people recognize this dance style as the non-bussle.

The shirt and breech cloths that this type of dancer wears has yarn hanging down. Wearing cuffings, a belt, roach with eagle feathers, and moccasins.

This is a picture of my little brother, Daniel B. Williams Jr. who to this day still dances the Grass Dance.
