Whoa, I can't believe you actually came here. Well, apparently you have some interest about the person behind this page. Ok, to get something out of the way, I LOVE METALLICA! (If you can't tell by the blury logo in the background.) In my opinion they are the best band in the industry. Now, this is only my opinion. If you don't like em, tell me why through e-mail. But no flames, please. I really don't want you to have to manually purge your POP3 or anything. Oh, and I also like NIN. One thing, among many, that is odd about me is that I go through music "phases". At one point, and I am very ashamed of this, I liked RAP! 8( Now, I hate that crap. Then I progressed to NIN, then Metallica, yet retained the Nails portion. So, those are my current music interests.

Now, a little about my interests. Hmm, lets see, I am intersted in a variety of things, let me name them: Computers. Well, now you know about my varied interests. I am almost on the computer 24/7. Sure, I stop to eat, and every once in a while I will go out with friends. But, right now, computers are one large aspect of my life. In fact, during this Summer and fall, I will be taking classes on Windows NT 4.0. Basically, if I pass all the Microsoft exams, I will become a MCSE. (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) Apparently, this certification is highly in demand by most companies. To be honest, almost anybody with just a BASIC notion of how a computer and network works can take these courses. But, that is what will be occupying my time this summer.

Now, a little about my setup as far as computers. *WARNING* this may be too technical depending on who's reading it, but probably not. Anyway, I currently have a two computer Client/Server LAN in my house. Until yesterday, July 14, it was a peer-to-peer LAN. That was, before I installed NT Server on one of my boxes. Now I have set up a *tiny* domain, configuring the server as the PDC. Why do I have Winodws NT Server on a 2 computer LAN? Good question. I guess mainly because it came with the courseware for this class I am taking. Currently, it has no practical use for me, except to admin and get some hands-on experience. WinNT is much more stable than Win95, mainly because parts of Win95 were coded 16 bit, and some 32. Although this gave it compatability among many platforms, it was still unstable. WinNT, howerver, is coded entirely 32 bit, making a MUCH more stable OS. Unfortunately, this is only a 120 day trial version of NT Server. Thus, once this expires, (or probably before) I will be installing Linux on my box. For those of you that don't know, Linux is a very stable OS that is FREEWARE on the internet. Also, from what I've seen and heard, it optimizes your box, no matter what platform you are on. My friend, Filip Pizlo (a.k.a The Slav) runs Linux on his P75 box very well. Also, it has a very good implementation of TCP/IP. When he gets on a Quake server, his lag can be as low as 255ms on a 28.8, which is like playing modem to modem. If I haven't said it yet, Linux is also great for networking outside of the internet, and can interface with almost and platform. So, with all these features, I will be eventually taking down my NT box and hooking it up with Linux. So then my config will be one box running Linux, the other 95. (Hmm, this will be interesting.) But, for games, I will simply boot into DOS to play em. (With the possible exception of Linux Quake and Linux DOOM.) So now you know a little bit about my plans for my puters. Whew!

Now, a little about what I do on the net, my ISP is currently Internet Indiana, but when I move, I am changing to Concentric. It has truly been a pain in the ass planning out my e-mail forwarding, so a service with a Universal e-mail address will be nice. I am on IRC a good amount, on Undernet, and in the channel #duke3d with my nick as Jaymez. Also, you can visit The Slav's channel of #Unix420. How I got my nick? Well, I guess it was given to me. I am on a local Quake clan called Metal Malitia, and Pizlo, the clan leader gave it to me. Oh by the way, I have provided a link to his site below. We can kick anyone's ass. Me (Jaymez) and Pizlo (Lepper Messiah) alone are awesome, but there is this one dood named House (Orion) who is a real badass. Well, this is more or less what I do on the net, besides edit my page.
