Welcome back to NESpresso! The summer has just begun & NESpresso will try to keep you cool with the latest updates.

If you weren't aware, my 24th birthday (& my 8 1/2 anniversary online) was last Saturday & it wasn't as bad as other birthdays, but it could have been better. I did pick up a game & a subscription to Nintendo Power (which has been redesigned since my previous subscription has expired). As a gift to everybody, I've added a few more items to my downloads department.

Due to popular demand, I've been hosting the Animal Crossing Desktop Clock & giving everybody access to the file. Even though it was created for the Japanese audience of the game, it's still a cool item to have for the US audiences. If there's enough interest, I might try to gather people to make the US version of the clock, with a few changes & some new features (like a customizable chime, for a start). I've also started hosting the Animal Crossing Code Generator (w/ shell) as well as it's another hard-to-find item.

As for the reviews, I've added two new reviews (1 PC / 1 Gamecube) & I'm planning to add a MAME section as well. I won't be submitting ROMs on this site due to legal reasons (I will not contribute to Copyright Infringement... You can find other sites for this), but I will review the games as if they were in the arcade. If you like to like to get into playing the classic arcade games, please check out the MAME website at www.mame.net for the emulator, support files (sound samples, monitor bezels, ect.) & 3 LEGAL ROMS (they've been released to the public by their copyright holders).

MAME is a great arcade emulator, but you'll need a fast computer to emulate some of the more modern games, but you can use a 800 Mhz system for the classic games. There's also many variants of MAME (like MAME32, which has a Windows interface) that you can pick up. The makers of MAME want everybody to play the arcade ROMS legally (as they tell you to buy the rom chips / boards & the ROM dumping stuff from eBay), but they can't control how everybody uses their software. They do, however, refuse to emulate of any game that was released in the past 3 years. This means that any game that was released in the arcades AFTER 2002 (or is still sold as "NEW") will receive any emulation support from MAME or it's legal variations.

That's all I have for this issue of the Daily Drip. If I have more write about, check the NESpresso Blogger... I know it needs an update baddly. I'll C'ya Latte!
