Final Fantasy V is another excellent game in the Final Fantasy Series.
It introduced elements that would be part of Final Fantasy III(Japan VI) and
retained some of Final Fantasy II(Japan IV). Originally, FFV was not released
in the United States, but a Playstation version has just recently been produced.
This guide is based on a ROM translation, which is much better(by far) than the
Playstation version.
From FF, the original, the Red Wizard has come back, along with the
ubiquitous White and Black Wizards, and more than a few monsters. FFII
contributes the Dragoon, the Monk(a hybrid of FF's Black Belt and Yang's
Karate from II(IVJ)), and two of four chocobo types. Carried over from V
to III will be a number of Job abilities transferred as Relics, Locke's Steal,
Cyan's Cleave, or even Gogo's Mimicry, as well as the first SNES or Famicom
appearance of those irrepressible Moogles, minus all the abilities that make
them useful. Anyone who has played the Final Fantasy Series will be pleased
with this lost treasure.
