Final Fantasy Legend II
Never Before Seen Secret!!
I may be the only person ever to know this useful and very interesting secret
from the best of the Final Fantasy Legend Series. I know that this is probably
the first time it's ever seen print, even though I discovered it within a week
of the release of the game. Enjoy.
When you have humans and mutants in your party, you know it's always nice
to find those stat-boosting potions, like Power, Mana, and Body. Of course, if
you want to teach your characters to fish, or boost their own abilities, then
the foremost statistic to boost is Agility. Without agility, you just can't move
fast enough to get those hits in and battles are longer, more arduous, and
less rewarding. If your mutants don't get into the action with agility-based
weapons, they lag behind severely, and even the experienced player may find
him- or herself stuck with a mutant who never gets a hit in and falls further
and further behind. However, hope comes from an unlikely source... very unlikely.
When items don't benefit you anymore and you can't get to the shop, you can
throw them away by moving them into the garbage can icon on the item screen,
but that innocent little icon also has a powerful ability. Selecting the garbage
can icon is normally an invalid choice, but upon entry into Shogun's World it
not only becomes an item of sorts, but it also acts as a seemingly endless
Agility Potion! Though not bottomless, the number of uses granted by the
can/potion is staggering considering that each use gives 3 agility points
and 15 points can take a character from tortoise to hare.
In case you were wondering, the can/potion seems to grant a number of uses
equal to the number of Magi left to be collected in the game, after which it
becomes an invalid choice again. The one drawback is that taking ALL doses
granted by the can causes the number of Magi collected to become an unusual
number and may interfere with passing through doors that have Magi requirements.
To play it safe, it seems best to save the game, use the can until empty and
count the number of doses, then reset and make sure to save the last agility
boost.
