Level 8: Pyrotechnics

Welcome to Africa. I hope your Green Beret is ready to do a lot of work. You first need to clear the three soldiers to the right of your position. You need some good synchronization at the outset. When the two patrolling soldiers are both moving away, have your Green Beret run out and kill the one up top, and immediately have your Sniper take out the second one while he's behind the wall, so he can't be seen by the third guard. Then, watch the timing of the standing guard's line-of-sight and as it moves from your left to your right. Sprint out and stab him. Then, have the Sniper shoot the standing guard through the opening in the wall and immediately have your Green Beret stab the patrolling guard at the far left as he moves away. Now you have some breathing room. Have the Green Beret move both bodies to the other side of the wall.

There's a pesky guard standing at the cliff's edge, watching the two guards at the top of the road. He needs to be taken out. You can either set the decoy behind the two guards or use some good timing. Either way, you first need to maneuver to just above the two guards near the barrels. Once there, wait for just the right moment to sprint up into the room where the guard is patrolling and kill him as he moves away from you. Make sure the body is up against the left-hand wall. Then, killing the lone guard standing at the cliff requires multiple windows, so you can watch the two guards patrolling behind him and watch the eyes of the guard next to the road who can see over that far. You can use the decoy can help distract him, but you don't have to. When the time is right, run out and kill the guard and carry him back behind the wall before anyone spots you. It's not easy, but you can do it.

Next, there's a guard patrolling at the bottom of the road in front of some oil tanks. He can see up to where the two guards are, and so can the guard patrolling in a triangle pattern around the truck. You can have your Sniper sneak up along the far right side of the screen all the way to the cliff's edge and shoot the guard by the tanks when he is all the way to the left in his patrol. Watch the other guard down there so as not to be spotted when you stand up. Before the Green Beret comes back over to where the Sniper is, have him place a decoy in the room where the guard had been patrolling. You can use it to distract the two guards in a minute. It's time to give the Green Beret a good workout. Keeping an eye on that same guard down by the truck and using the decoy, take out the closest guard and carry his body out of sight. Then kill the second guard by the road as well and stash his body. Now you can finish clearing out the top part (almost). First, go get your decoy. You should have two guards patrolling and a guy standing still. Move back over to the wall opposite of where they are and kill the guard patrolling closest to you when the other is out of sight. You need enough time to run out and kill him and carry him back behind the wall before the second guard comes into view. After you hide the body, crawl into the corner where the barrel is and wait. The standing guard can be killed by simply timing his line-of-sight as it moves from bottom to top. You also want to time this with the patrolling guard so that when you kill the standing guard, you have enough time to sprint over and kill the one on patrol before he turns around. The last shmuck is a piece of cake and the guy in the big gun can't kill you, nor can you kill him or take over his gun. Have the Green Beret bring all the barrels over by the gun. Be sure that you have them located close together and that you can hit one if you were lying on the edge of the cliffs past where the barbed wire ends. Trust me on this one.

Now it's time to tackle the second half. At this point you can give your Sniper some work by having him kill the guy on the roof of the barracks, next to truck. You need to have multiple windows open for this one to be sure nobody sees him fall. Then, have the Green Beret crawl down the left side of the road and to the spot where the guard was killed next to the gas tanks. There's a guard you need to watch; he is patrolling NW to SE from the side of the building with the flag. He can catch you if you're not careful, so watch him. The guard on the other side can be killed by running out, knifing him, and carrying him to where you have the other body. You can follow behind the guard as he walks down past the left side of the truck and hide there as he finishes and walks up the other side. When he passes by the other side, crawl/run around and kill him and put his body behind the northern side of the building, out of sight. From here on out you need to watch both the guard you've been watching, the one patrolling left and right between all the tanks you're supposed to blow up, and the guys who are patrolling near the housing to the south/southeast. Crawl over and place the decoy to the right of the tent on the right and then crawl behind both to the left side of the left tent. Turn it on and kill the guard in front of the left tent. Hide his body on the left side. You don't even have to turn the decoy off, just crawl to the left side of the right tent and, when the time is right, kill him and drag him off to where you dumped his buddy.

There are two guards patrolling inside the small courtyard, one in a straight line and another to his right that patrols in an "L" pattern. Watch the timing on their patrols and when the guard to the left turns and heads up and to the right, run out and kill him and stash his body up by the tent. Then, you have to time your run to get the "L" guard, watching both the guard in the middle and the one whose patrol ends near the courtyard. Hide his body to the left of the row of houses, facing the barracks. You can draw out that annoying guard in the middle by waiting until he walks away, and then running from the right group of houses to the left, inside the courtyard and hiding in a house. He'll come to investigate. You can come out and knife him when his back is turned. That last guard whose patrol ends just inside the right set of houses can be killed simply by waiting next to the door and killing him when he turns the corner. Work your way towards the barracks in the middle of camp, to the left of the barrels. The guard standing alone can be killed by simply timing the two patrolling guards on the ground and the one patrolling on top of the depots. Quickly get his body hidden behind the barrels and then jump the guard patrolling in between the barrels and drag him to the same place. You're almost there.

It's possible to take out the other guy on the ground, but easier if you get the two on top of the depots. Crawl all the way back around to the backside of the houses. You can hide from the guards if you are standing right up against the depots, despite what the line-of-sight shows. Move to the one where the guard is standing and place the decoy such that he'll face away from the patrolling guard on the other depot. Crawl back to the ladder of the other depot as the guard on the ground moves from left to right and the guard on the depot begins moving away from you; climb the ladder and quickly kill the guard. Without turning off the decoy, run up behind the guard patrolling on the ground and kill him. Or, you can get over to the other depot, climb the ladder without being spotted, and kill that guard. The order doesn't matter, although getting the guy patrolling first is probably easier.

Now you're ready to move the barrels into position. Place the barrels evenly apart in a "T" that goes between the depot and the barrels and then from that line to the reservoir. Also place one barrel between the two depots. Your Sniper should make his way outside the barbed wire near the small wall along the south side of the road. Put your Green Beret along the top of the cliff's edge where he can hit the barrels you placed next to the big gun. Have the Sniper hit the barrels next to the depot/reservoir, blowing all three targets up, and then immediately hit the ground and take cover. Have the Green Beret take out the big gun and climb down the cliffs. Take out the guard who runs towards you down the road and then go kill the machine gun nest before he destroys your ride. Have both guys hop in the jeep and head home.
