Mirkwood Map

This was recieved Bevern- a player of Mirkwood

There was just one small thing i wanted to correct! :

"I couldn't find anything to guide me outside of the city. " Well, maybe its hard.. but if you just had used question channel, you would prolly have gotten directions to the mapshop.. or if you had looked on your map over the city :) The map shop sells maps over the whole MUD.. its pretty kewl.. :) Anyway.. i like your site.. the description of Mirkwood was very good:)

Anyway.. thanx for letting me share my opinions

Food Issue

Well, since you commented on the directions thingy, I'm assuming that you haven't been on the mud for very long (this was a very, very recent addition), so I have a little difficulty with your ability to review the mud and the things it has to offer. Had you but asked on q/a or chat about your difficulty filling up on rolls (I'm assuming cinnamon rolls from Wendy's), you would have found out that the pipeweed bread at Esme's is the way to go. As for money, well...Mirkwood isn't a very monetary society...we mostly kill for our existance. But, if you really need money as a newbie, then I've found that killing drunks gives a newbie more money than he/she/it could possibly need. I think you might want to spend a little more time with us and really get a feel for what we have to offer, then make a follow-up review. We'd love to have you ;)

I have been a player on Mirkwood for almost two years now, and I have a vast knowledge of the items etc. there. You commented on the food, and it is true, you can eat rolls galore and still not be full, but there are plenty of other food items at wendy's. The biggie fries fill you up when eating just 3-4 of them and the double cheeseburgers, while expensive for a lowbie, fill you up with just two. There are also food items far and wide on the mud, and chances are, if you see many chanracters eating once particualr food, then one will get the hint that that is the one to eat...not 12 or more rolls :) Just though i'd comment on the subject since you found it a downside to Mirkwood. I'm glad that you liked it!

All Rounder

I've been playing on Mirkwood for over a year. For the most part, I agree with your review; the atmosphere is the best I've ever seen (actual friendly imms, whoa! :P). Still, I have a few comments... First of all, the directions system is brand new. It really is quite nice, but the building has caused a few glitches. For example, the rolls that didn't reduce hunger... I'm guessing those were the cinammon rolls at Wendy's, which aren't a staple and aren't very good at all. The pipeweed bread in the Shire and in Kate's Diner is much better. I had some food and money problems when I started as well... but I think that's just a part of being a newbie. I've had food/money problems on all the muds I've started on... As for the cocky imm, if it was Queezowl or Darkspell, it's understandable. Queez and DS are the most actively antisocial people on the imm team... but they're still pretty cool. Well, thanks for giving Mirk such a positive review... I've played itfor a near-disgusting number of hours, and I haven't gotten sick of it yet. :)
