Arctic: A very good mud that caters for the real adventurer. Arctic is full of players, at most times there are up to 180 players online at once. However things don't seem to get to crowded and the lag is hardly existent most of the time.

Arctic is a DIKU mud based on the world of krynn it contains major cities, good zones and incredible mobiles (monsters). Overall it is a really good mud. The players are many and some have bigger egos than others but it isn't hard to find a decent high level to help you out with your initial days.

However arctic does have a couple of problems that may be its eventual downfall. Firstly its the player killing. This generally involves one player slotting another for either equipment, money or just for fun. Player killing on arctic has been going on forever. Since arcitic allows these killings there isn't much anyone can do about it. Even the gods don't really bother that much about stopping it. But then again pk-ing is really the essence of arctic. It does seem more realistic with the killings though, and sometimes they can be fun. A newbie player should be especially careful of clans, such as The Shriners. Basically this clan is simply just a bunch of high level people that find comfort in numbers (we personally feel they have more bravery in the whole clan than you would find in a can of beans). They run around killing for equipment generally but they like the revenge reasons to.

Gods: ahh the infamous gods of arctic. Some are cool.. others are just up themselves coz of their position in the game. The gods can be friendly when they want to, however this is not always the case. On occasion, some of the lesser gods of arctic are even known to take harsh punishments on people for Disturbing them??!!.However, not all the gods are bad, the gods that REALLY matter such as Nyte and Morgion are pretty cool. They'll help out most people when asked.

Overall arctic is a pretty decent place. Lots to do and kill.. but just becareful of player killers..

Advice: Arctic is good for those people who are trying out mudding for the first time. It has everything anyone could really need. If you are not into pkilling, then maybe you should overlook this one. However, if you are then you should definitely not miss Arctic. Our advice is stay neutral, don't go being a smartass and you should be okay. For newbies we recommend to start in the city of Solace. They have laws to protect you from pkilling there.
