Cardboard mooks.
Whenever mooks are involved, it's a pretty safe bet that there
will be a lot of running around, explosions and stuff getting broken.
With all of that, it's pretty easy to get confused as to who is
where. It's therefore a good idea to use figures to keep track of
everyone. Unfortunately, not everyone has masses of metal
figures.
Still, worry not! Help is at hand! Yes - it's the cardboard
mooks!
Here's how to use the cardboard mooks.
First follow the links to Mooks
1, Mooks 2 or
Dead Mooks.
The links will bring up a .gif of the cardboard mooks in a new
window. You can save the .gif files to your hard disk by
click-and-holding (Mac) or right-clicking (PC) on the .gif to bring
up the save dialog box. The figures are black and white, so that
people with laser printers can still use them, and relatively Lo-rez,
so they don't take too long to download. If enough people whine, I
might make colour ones.
Second, print the mooks out either on light card or on
paper (which can then be glued to loose card). NOTE! make
sure to choose "fit to one page" when printing. On some
printers/systems the sheets can extend out over several
sheets, which is no good at all. If your printer can't hack
this, you may need to open the file in a graphics
application and resize it to one page.
Third, cut them out (along the solid lines), crease them
along the dotted lines and fold them up as in the
illustration. As they are folded up, insert a small coin (
a penny, one cent piece, 50 øre, whatever) into the
bottom section, with a spot of glue on it, then fold and
glue the back of the figure sections together. (The dead
mooks are a little simpler to assemble, but I figure you can
sort that out yourself).
