The Jade Phoenix
The Harmonious Jade Phoenix Society - or the Jade Phoenix, as it
is usually referred to - is a loose network of mages, martial artists
and sages mostly living in the middle kingdoms (China). They have in
common the fact that they are generally practitioners of the internal
arts and and that they oppose those who would use their arts for evil
purposes. Few outsiders know of the Jade Phoenix, and fewer still
know that they they are anything other than a casually-organised
group with common sympathies. This is because they have never been
very numerous, and because they prefer, where possible, to act
indirectly, through intermediaries. However, in cases where the
elders of the Jade Phoenix deem the problem serious enough, they are
willing to act in person - something not to be treated lightly
considering the prowess of some of their members. In the past, this
has meant that they have fought against the White Lotus society,
various evil sorcerors and cults such as the Red Banner Society.
