Getting free players

- Make sure the selling team and the player is interested.
- Offer the team a price that it accepts right away.
- Click on the 'Adjust Offer'.
- Bring down the offer to 'FREE'.
- Do NOT press 'OK'! Press 'CANCEL'.
- You will now get your offer accepted...

Big-Club Release

- List the player for LOAN.
- When clubs want him, then REJECT.
- Then your player won't leave the club.

Finding future stars

- Right after the computer has done it's first update after season end, go to the Player Search screen.
- Go to the Euro Scout, and sort players by value.
- Browse down the list until you find players that have no average rating ("---").
- These are players that have replaced old stars.
- Buy them if you want, most likely they'll join you, no matter what team they play on.
- Be prepared to spend one season to build them up... remember; they're new!

Be a National Team Mananger

- Start a new game.
- Pick a national team.
- Type your name as the current national team manager.
- E.g. "Glenn Hoddle" to become the England manager.

Player Swooping

- Your lousy, cheap player is wanted by another club.
- Adjust the asking price for this player to a VERY high price.
- Offer the player in exchange by making a bid for an interested player for the interested party's expensive star player.

Attacking Power

Play 4-4-2, move your left fullback to a striker position (in between the two strikers already there), and then move your goalkeeper up as a left fullback. Your goalie now is supposed to be both a left fullback *and* a goalie, which gives you some more attacking power.I haven't tried this yet.

Quit without saving

This really is a (well hidden) feature of the game, but can be used to cheat (for whatever reason.. :). Pressing the asterisk key (*) on the numeric keypad makes CM2 quit to DOS/WIN without having to save the game first. Pretty neat ?

No work permit? No one wants you player? (For CM 97/98)

This is a situation where both you and your player is stuck. If your player has not played 75% of all your domestic league games (in which he is available. Putting him on in the very end of the match also counts) he won't get his work permit renewed. You must sell him. If you have no buyers, put him on a free transfer. If you cannot afford it (or refuse to spend the money), there is nothing much you can do, except renegotiate the contract to last for one season only. (This is a cheat and/or tip).

The "most used" cheat

Add more managers (max. 8) and do some nice transfer to swap good/bad players and to move some money from one bank account to another.
