Ferg's history is as long as he is old, which is quite old indeed. He origonally appeared in the realm of Magrathea as an elf, and once he had earned the right reincarnated himself as a drow. There was a great breaking, though, and he was again returned to his elvishness in an enormous temporal spasim, so again he worked and worked and this time became a mighty dragon. He remained as a dragon for age upon age. Many clans had the benefit of his service in this form, amoung them the Borg of old, and later the Anla'Shok, and the Dark Knights. Eventually he tired and desired something new, he reincarnated again as a drow and began the long climb to power again. He found it much easier at his old age, and when the Dark Knight dissolved he found himself in the Stalkers. There he remained, and his power grew. He learned the art of the kill and became an extremely useful member. Durring this time he reincarnated once again as a might Klingon warrior. His toughness and power were renowned and he brought much glory to the clan. Eventually however the tedium of ending lives began to eat at him and he began to hunger for the ways of magic again, and thus (again) found himself as a drow mage. This time he became a member of the peaceful magicians guild of the Arcanum. Clans were brought to their knees in time though, and all were abolished, Ferg went with them and found himself at the bottom of the totem pole, again as a drow, but as a cleric this time. He was offen thought a fool for this, no one thought that a drow could be preistly, but he showed them the err of their ways. At almost a hundred years old though, and with an all new body, Ferg became quite powerful. Drawing on his age and experience he was able to do things others labored for ages to do with relative ease, and he soon found himself amoung the more powerful mortals of the realm once again. In this time he also founded and led the clan of the Watchers, documenting the history of Magrathea as time went on. He had always been in the forefront of the Magrathean population, but now he had managed to catch the eye of the immortals, who rewarded him for his service with immortality of his own. He worked long and hard to prove their faith in him was not misguided and for many an age this was the way of things.
There was another breaking. The world was changed. Nothing was ever the same again.
Ferg found himself cold and alone. His power of old gone. Achieving greatness had become much more difficult than it was in the past, and the slaying of monsters became almost impossible. He was again accepted into the immortal ranks though, and now works to help the mortals regain what was lost in the breaking by what means he is able.
