The Attic
Before the ghost can follow, you crawl on your hands and knees to the door and shut it. Sighing with relief, you wipe your sweaty brow and get to your feet. You knees are shaking, and your heart is pounding against your ribs. You take a shaky step forward, but your foot kicks into something and you fall. You realize you are at the bottom of another set of stairs. Not knowing of anywhere else to go, you decide to go up them.
Feeling your way around in the dark, you find a door at the top of the stairs and go through it, entering the dimly lit room. There is one window across the way, through it you can see the full moon shining brightly.

You begin walking towards the light, in hopes that you will be able to see better from there. Careful not to stumble over all the old, sheet-covered furniture and boxes, you head for the window. Suddenly there is a loud screech, and two bats swoop from the ceiling straight towards you.

You duck and you can feel the bats skim the top of your head as they fly by and disappear. More bats are disturbed and begin to fly around the ceiling. Keeping low to avoid having bats getting tangled in your hair, you keep moving along until you reach the window.
Just outside is a tall twisted tree, it's gnarled branches reaching towards the house. A sudden bang behind you causes you to spin around, but you lose your balance and tumble off the sill. Flailing your arms, you manage to grab one of the branches. Using all your strength, you pull yourself up onto the tough, knotted arm of the tree. Catching your breath, you start to inch down the branch towards the ground.
Suddenly, something with glowing yellow eyes yowls and leaps at you. You lose your grip and fall off the branch, twigs scraping at your face as you fall to the grass with a thump. You look up to see that the creature that had scared you was only a black cat. It hisses at you before melting into the shadows.
You look around and discover that you are in a graveyard.
