Some
Miscellaneous Fun
Some
of the cool things Jamie and I have done recently
You
may recognize Jamie in front of the Vasquez Rocks from “Bill & Ted’s
Excellent Adventure” or the old Star Trek series. They get used in lots of
Westerns and sci-fi flicks because they’re so close to Los Angeles.
We
camped in the Redwoods at Big Basin Park (near San Francisco). We spent a few
nights in a tent cabin there. Luxury tenting…not just an oxymoron anymore!
Of
course, we’ve been to the Golden Gate. Walked over it, in fact. (Long windy
walk that.)
I’m
proud to say we’re not part of those folks that live five hours from Yosemite
and have never visited it. That was the wettest, wildest week Jamie and I have
ever had…but for that wonderful half-day, we could see everything, and there
was no one in the park but us and a few rangers. Priceless.
Here
I am (with Jamie taking the picture), waiting for SpaceShipOne in the Mojave
Desert to launch and claim the Xprize. I finally got to see a rocket launch and
a guy hit the fringes of space with my own little peepers.
Maybe
they’ll actually make space achievable for the rest of us one day soon!
But
best of all…she said YES! (Date to be determined still…but it’s gonna be Mr. and
Mrs. around here soon!)
(And
just by coincidence…yes…this is the only picture that doesn’t have my SD hat in
it. Odd…)
