Playa Blanca
My Solo Excursion to Mexico
I had never taken a vacation by myself
to a foreign land before. Okay, okay...Mexico isn't far away...
but when you don't speak the language, it's a mighty strange
experience. I managed to meet
a bunch of folks and have a good time though. I still can't
believe how many Canadians were
down there. I don't blame them though. It was January. Mexico
would look good to me also if I
lived in a snow-bound country like Canada.
There are still more photos to be
developed,
but here are some shots of the resort I stayed at.
This was the view from my balcony. The hammocks were where I spent my middays.
Ahh...the trapeze. Yes. I did this
foolish thing. I did backflips, catches, and tumbles to the net.
Not surprisingly, it was an absolute blast. Although you can't
believe how much EVERY
muscle in your body HURTS after you do this.
Looking up the hill at the other
apartments. Their view was better...
...but my location rocked. They had something like 200 stairs to
climb.
The tennis courts. I never used these. Why would I want to sweat that much?
This is more my style. The Kayak shop. I
spent most of my time in early afternoon
boating around the bay and getting in trouble by exploring little
chutes of water
between very big rocks. The G.O.s got very tired of warning me
away from them. Heh.
Another view of the water. The resort
was really nice, but isolated a long ways from
other towns. The bay was the trade-off though. Very, very nice
sunsets and kayaking.
A short walk from my apartment was the
restaurant. See why I liked my location?
Oh yeah...and the bar was right downstairs. That was mighty
convenient also.
