Interacting with the Mortal World

The Rules of the Undead

In the world of darkness even the creatures that go bump in the night have to follow a few unwritten rules. All factions of vampire society, Anarch, Camarilla, Sabbat, follow certain 'rules' when dealing with the mortal public.

Contrary to popular belief Sabbat do indeed follow a certain set of rules. Please refer to your Sabbat Players Guide pg 13. Though Sabbat view mortals as no threat, that could mostly be construed at 'big talk' by the sect itself. If it actually thought this way, wouldnt' it just outright attack the mortal world for control? Exposing it's soft underbelly to those that it considers lesser beings? There is a simple reason they do not.....they know it would be the downfall of their kind. Sabbat have a disregard for the Masquerade but follow their own little Masquerade, that which they don't tell anyone about.

A note on playing Camarilla and Sabbat characters. It seems to be a widespread misconception that the Camarilla is a haven for human loving, peace keeping kindred. Each with a heart of gold and a tender spot for poor mortals. This is simply not true. A vampire is a vampire. Monster is a monster. Just because you belong to a sect does not take away the fact that you can indeed be a psycho, a sadist, a masochist, a killer of children. You can indeed be an animal among the civlized.

On the other hand Sabbat players are not all brainless morons who run around killing randomly in the face of mortal authority. They can be refined, dignified and have etiquette. The only difference between the Camarilla and the Sabbat is ideology...a train of thought. This is not a game of old west, where the Camarilla wears the proverbial white hats and the Sabbat bearing the black.

They are all monsters of the dark.
